The Cold War began almost immediatley after World War 2. The Cold War got its name because both sides, the USA and the Soviet Union were afraid of facing and fighting each other directly. Historians disagree on how long the Cold War actullay lasted. Some people belive it ended when the Soviet Union and the USA became better friends during the 1960s-1970s. Others believe it ended when the Berlin Wall was torn down in 1989.
This war was not what most people think of when they think of a war. There was actually not a bullet fired or a bomb dropped. It was just a big competition on who could make the biggest and worst weapons and bombs of mass destruction, for example the atomic bomb. The first atomic bomb was made in world war two, and in the cold war it was it was manufactured massively. It wasn’t one of those one time make things it was a “try and make as much as you can before the Russians do” that’s why this warsother name is the arms race. The two countries competing on who can make the best weapons and the biggest weapons. The Cold War was the period of conflict and competition between the Untied States and the Soviet Union.

these pictures represent the struggles in the cold war such as the race to get on top or the first one to make the biggest weapons.
Allies
The Cold War was the period of conflict and competition between the Untied States and the Soveit Union. The allies of the United States are Western Europe, Japan, and Canada. One of the Soviet's allies are Eastern Europe and China. The United States and the Soviet Union became the World’s only remaining superpowers, and their relations were not exactly “friendly”. The two countires actullay never engaged in open military conflict, so the hoslitels became known as the Cold War.
Joesph Stalin
As ruler of the Soviet Union from 1929 to 1953, Joseph Stalin was in charge of Soviet polices during the early part of the Cold War. Born with the name Losif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvill on December 21, 1879, he adopted the name Stalin, which means “ Man of Steel”. He was born on December 21st, 1879 in Gori, Georgia, Russia now the Republic of Georgia, and died on March 5th 1953.
Harry Truman
Born on May 8th, 1884 in Lamar, Missouri, and died on December 26th 1972 in Kansas City Missouri President Truman took the job when President Roosevelt died just before the end of World War 2. In his “ early years” Truman went to school in Independence, Missouri, but could not afford college, so he went off and worked at several jobs on his fathers farm. He got his education the hard way by being in the army.
Cluture During The Cold War
The Cold War was reflected in culture through music, books and other media. The musical era of the 1980s, like may other decades the 1980s where music was way to chronicle the times and events or the era. Not only those things but, it was also based on peoples attitudes in their everyday life. An example would be, who gets into movies or other Hollywood things. There were many protest songs that reflected "hate" towards the Soviet Union. An example would be that in music artists wore costumes such as military uniforms. The most famous songs of the 1980s was 99 lufballons and Nena which described things that could go to necular wars.
Two Diffrent Sides of The Story
"There were two times during the Cold War when the Soviet Union was convinced it was on the brink of nuclear war with the United States. For much of 1983, it appeared the Cold War would do nothing but deepen. The year began with an attempt by Soviet leader Yuri Andropov to launch a so-called "peace offensive" -- a series of proposals that included a reduction of intermediate-range nuclear missiles in Europe and a summit with U.S. President Ronald Reagan -- that was meant to cool tensions."- CNN Newsground

Wow the page is almost as good as the gulags page. But the majority of it is pictures. I think you could add some internal links to our page(Josef Stalin).

I really liked your page, it has good content and uses good words. If I was going to grade it I would give it a 4.5 star. I would do that because you added great content and there are not many grammer and spelling errors. Also the bubble share made me lagh and also followed the subject. One way to improve it is you could add more links. Also you have a lot of pictures, you might want to make another bubble share or take them out. Linking can make you have a good grade, you might want to add more. You did a good job on your wiki.

Hey Guys,
I think that this page is a good start with potential to be excellent. You've got a solid base of content to begin with.
The real weakness comes in proofreading. You have far, far too many spelling and grammar errors for a final copy. This cheapens your work because it makes people wonder whether or not the information is valid.
It also looks from the history like much of the content work was done by only one person and that you may have left your work until the last minute. I wonder if that affected your chance of getting this proofread well.

hey guys, you had good detail, and few grammar mistakes. You could use some more links though. I noticed though you had mpre pictures than information. Also the pictures were crammed in there so it made it look sloppy. You did a good job though.

Hey Guys i think that you did a good over all job. It seems like you have to many pictures and not enough content. If i had to score your paragraph i would give it a 85-90.

I'm surprised that this page turned out organize and neat. I like your information about the Cold War. You've got some pictures that are great. Although, it's a little bit jammed up. I also notice that there are only 1-2 links in each paragraph. How about put more links on it. I would grade this an 86%-87%.

I think you guys did a nice job. You have a good amount of content, which is accurate. I liked the political cartoon. It made the page more interesting. However, this page seems a little crammed up. Also, I noticed quite a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes. This page could use more links. Overall, I think this page was pretty good!
